There are over seven billion people on the planet and each and every one of us is unique. A complex combination of the way we look, talk, think and act all come together to make us who we are. It’s not surprising then that there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ when it comes to skin care. Sometimes a combination of treatments is required to best combat those pesky fine lines and wrinkles. Combining Dermal Fillers and Radio Frequency treatments is one such way to achieve a smooth, glowing complexion.
What Is Radio Frequency Microneedling?
RF Microneedling treatments use ultrafine needles to penetrate the skin, initiating its natural healing response. New collagen-rich tissue is generated, plumping and smoothing the skin. Adding radio frequency to this process heats the skin in a controlled manner, further stimulating collagen production. Here at Medicare Cosmetics, we use the Focus Dual machine from Lynton.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal Fillers are a soft gel containing stabilised, non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. Injected into the dermis or the subcutaneous layer beneath it, fillers work by boosting the skin’s natural supply of hyaluronic acid, adding volume in the process. The gel smoothes out fine lines and wrinkles, giving long-lasting results.
Will Radio Frequency Microneedling Dissolve My Filler?
There is no scientific evidence that radio frequency will dissolve dermal fillers. To alter the structure of fillers, studies have found that the gel would need to be heated up to 160℃. Heat from RF Microneedling reaches temperatures of approximately 65-75℃, meaning the two treatments are safe to be used in conjunction with one another.
What Results Can I Expect From Combining Treatments?
Results from Dermal Fillers are instant. They diminish fine lines and wrinkles, making the skin appear more youthful. RF Microneedling achieves its results over time. As collagen supplies increase, the skin becomes more firm, bright and even.
